ADM CELEBRATES ITS RIGHT TO EXIST IN PARADISO.
Today the judge rejected the municipality’s short term plans to evict Amsterdam’s last cultural free-space ADM. On Wednesday 28 February Paradiso opens its doors to ADM to celebrate this victory.
Today the Raad van State, the Dutch High Court for administrative law, decided as an interim measure that the outcome of ADM's Appeal against the municipality’s plan should be awaited. This means that the planned eviction of the ADM-community is suspended, and the outcome of the appeal remains uncertain.
ADM has been under pressure for some time. The residents as well as sympathizers from all over the world are all working in a positive way to preserve Amsterdam's last sanctuary of free creative expression. ADM will celebrate today’s verdict visibly and audibly,” in colourful manifestations, all throughout the city, starting in the Paradiso.
In support of the ADM-freespace music-temple Paradiso will open its doors to the ADM. The evening of Wednesday 28 February, Paradiso will be all about the creativity, art and other forms of cultural expression that ADM has to offer. Paradiso was itsself rescued from demolition by the squatting-movement.
